Born in Richmond and raised in Hurt, my mom did the best she could as a single parent. Taught at an early age by my father figure (Sammy) about hard work and integrity, I applied that philosophy to all aspects of my life. At the age of 14 our mom whisked us away to Massachusetts to be closer to her family. I missed Virginia terribly and always considered her "HOME". From paperboy to donut baker to police officer, I settled on being a Chimney Sweep after learning the basics from a friend of mine and fellow police officer who owned a masonry business. After being trained and certified in Boston Ma. I spent the next 17yrs learning and perfecting my skills and knowledge before branching out on my own in Rhode Island with my wife's encouragement. Forty three years after leaving Virginia my wife Millie encouraged me to move back home. After purchasing a small farm in Axton we adopted 2 Great Danes, Ash & Max. Max is chill and such a good boy. Ash however is a Great Dane with ADHD. She is always into everything including our wood stove which is why Millie named her Ash. After a couple of months and a thousand bad Ashes later Bad Ash Chimney Care was born. We offer all phases of chimney care at an affordable price without cutting corners. We give you what you need and nothing that you don't. We are not out to get rich.

Greg responded right away when I reached out in need of an inspection and cleaning for my chimney after moving into a new home. He did a great job, was very respectful of my space, and explained everything I needed to know in detail so I could safely use my fireplace moving forward an know how to handle any issues that might come up! Greg did a great job removing some resident squirrels from our chimney as well as cleaning the stove and chimney after the fact. I later had him come back and reseal the crown of the chimney, repoint the masonry, and reseat the stainless steel liner. He did everything on time and at a fair price. Recently, Greg came by for an annual sweep and inspection and gave me some great insight into how I can be burning fuel more efficiently with my model of wood stove insert. He was upfront with everything and worked efficiently and effectively. I plan to use him again for annual sweeps and inspections in the future!
